Foundations of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)

DBT The Foundations of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy: Management of Emotion Dysregulation workshop assists clinicians looking to be orientated to DBT and DBT teams who have recently hired new staff. Participants are trained to a level where they will have an overall knowledge of DBT, management of emotion dysregulation as well as the standard content and processes of DBT. Our trainers have extensive experience in running DBT and DBT informed programs and offer a workshop which is interactive and practice based.

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), developed by Marsha Linehan PhD at the University of Washington, is a type of psychotherapy (sometimes called “talking therapy”) for Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD). DBT is a cognitive behavioural therapy, meaning it is a therapy that focuses on the role of cognition (e.g., thoughts and beliefs) and behaviours (e.g., actions) in the development and the treatment of BPD. DBT includes some changes to the traditional cognitive behavioural elements of therapy in order to help specifically reduce the symptoms of BPD.

*The Foundations of DBT: Management of Emotion Dysregulation is a requirement for all those seeking to attend our other DBT workshops, excluding those who have attended a Marsha Linehan DBT workshop*
