Our Clinician Retreats

Clinician Retreats are specifically designed for health professionals interested in learning how to incorporate mindfulness into their clinical practice and daily lives. Our retreats offer an annual retreat for health professionals in Far North Queensland, Thailand and Bali which offers a variety of activities and new learning opportunities. During the retreat your mindfulness sessions will be guided by one of our trained practitioners through mindfulness based breathing, mindful walking and other mindfulness based strategies for you and your clients. The Retreat provides you with an experiential understanding of mindfulness and aims to teach you the tools that will enable you to incorporate this practice into your daily and work lives.

Who is This Retreat for? 

Entry is open to all health professionals of any modality who have an understanding of mindfulness and a commitment to further their practice in mindfulness.

The DBT retreat will focus on DBT Foundation skills which have been shown to be effective when working with individuals with emotion regulation difficulties and borderline personality disorder.

Proof of professional background as well as a written statement on your clinical experience, mindfulness practice experience and retreat goals is required prior to attending the retreat. Completion of this retreat will be acknowledged with a certificate of attendance.

DBT Foundation Training Details (included in full retreat or $1,500 if you choose to only attend training and organise your own accommodation and meals)

This foundation training focuses on the overall application of Dialectical Behaviour Therapy geared towards all participants having an understanding of, commitment to and benefits Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) can have for your clients.

This course knowledge and offers skills based non-judgemental approach to the management of client’s with Borderline Personality Disorder and clients who are self harming. In particular key concepts of Core Mindfulness and Distress Tolerance as acceptance based modules; teaching clients how to live with reality “as it is” will be explored. Emotion Regulation and Interpersonal Effectiveness as change- oriented modules, teaching clients how to alter themselves or their environments will also be addressed.

This training is focused on building participants competence to deliver a DBT or DBT informed program. Participants will firstly attend four days of foundation training, and then receive consultation over a 6-month period while implementing their program. Finally participants return for an additional day (or two days depending on participant numbers) for advanced training and further program consultation.

Setting up your DBT Program
